DJ Mazaboogie, aka Matti Raivio, found his way to Feelment through a musicology internship. “A DJ colleague told me he spends his day making playlists for a background music company. Inspired by that, I applied for an internship at Feelment, and I was sold from the very first interview.”
As the official DJ of the Helsinki office, Matti’s workdays are spent selling services, chatting with clients, and improving the playlist library. “If it involves background music, I’m there.” Matti is deeply involved in developing Feelment; while testing the new iOS version, the music enthusiast played millions of songs and nearly crashed the company’s reporting system.
An optimist at heart, Matti doesn’t get rattled easily and lives by a motto he learned from his grandmother: “Things have a way of working out.” Counterbalancing his positive attitude is his karaoke favorite, the somewhat melancholic “Viidestoista päivä” by Maustetytöt. In Feelment’s playlist library, Matti especially enjoys playing the Modern Lounge and Nu Disco playlists.
Favorite artist/band?
Icelandic band Sigur Rós.
Favorite Feelment feature?
Filtering playlists using the old/new/low/mid/high buttons. Another favorite is the recommended playlists section — I love seeing what Feelment suggests when I play a certain playlist.
Hobbies?
I try to do gym workouts, yoga, and play the piano, though I haven’t managed much yet due to lack of time. Instead, I live my dream by driving my child to their music lessons.
